Transferring out a domain

Domains are valuable assets and rigourously protected by owners. Therefore, we implement very strict procedures for transferring out domains.

In all cases, there are no exceptions to this rule, we require that all requests to transfer out are made in writing by letter or fax on headed paper signed by a person who has legal status within the organisation or company.

The transfer request must contain sufficient detail about the domain and where it is to be tranferred to.

In the case of a .uk domain we will need:

  1. The full domain e.g. example.co.uk
  2. The tag to which the domain is to be released e.g. MYISP
  3. The date the domain is to be released
  4. Nameserver information, if applicable

For a top leve domain e.g. .com, .net, .org we will need the following finroamtion:

  1. The full domain e.g. example.com
  2. The name of the receiving registrar
  3. The date the domain is to be released
  4. Nameserver information, if applicable

If some of this information is missing it may delay the release of the domain.

Please note: Domina transfers normally take a minimum of 5 days to complete
